Safeguarding

children-0237-crop-800The Cam Villages Churches are committed, as part of the Christian Church living in the spirit of the Gospel, to protect and care for everyone and we aim to be a beacon of best practice in safeguarding. Looking the other way is not an option. We do this by:

  • Ensuring that its volunteers, clergy, advisers and lay people achieve the standards laid down in the Safeguarding Policies of the Church of England, which the PCC has adopted, and this can be viewed here: https://www.churchofengland.org/more/safeguarding
  • Working with individuals who have criminal convictions, or where other safeguarding risks are identified, to ensure that they, and all members of the church community are safeguarded.
  • Holding to account all persons responsible for the safety and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults in the Diocese.

All our churches have their own safeguarding policies and Parish Safeguarding Representatives (PSRs) (see details below). If you have concerns about someone please contact the relevant representative or call the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser 01245 294 444

If you have immediate concerns about someone’s safety, please contact the police by dialling 999 or contact Essex County Council Adult Social Care 0345 603 7630  or  Child Social Care 0345 603 7627
